Our Team

Maya is a fourth-year medical student at the University of British Columbia, where she is pursuing her passion for primary care and preventive medicine. Having grown up in rural BC, she brings a grounded, community-minded perspective to her work in health care.

Maya believes medicine shouldn't stop at treating illness — it should work just as hard to prevent it. That belief is what drew her to The Prevention Playbook, where she helps translate evidence-based approaches to health management and disease prevention into practical guidance that we can all use.

Alisha Dostie is a second-year medical student at the University of British Columbia who loves listening to podcasts and exploring the many ways we can take better care of ourselves. Before medical school, she worked with the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit, where she developed a strong appreciation for the power of prevention in improving health and well-being.

As she continues to explore the many paths a career in medicine can take, she is particularly passionate about helping make evidence-based health information accessible and practical, and believes it is essential to helping people make informed decisions about their health. Through her work with The Prevention Playbook she hopes to help bridge the gap between health research and everyday life.
